Bought a house and found my complete hate for bike forums back all in the same day.

I was going to find a sweet pump track vid and put "the future" above it but......I have way to short of attention span rite now.

Sram had to evolve to survive. The Shimano's XtR plus rear derailleur came out last year and has a mechanism that eliminates chain slap and chain suck. Amazing! I am partial to Sram for Mtn applications, so seeing this made me very happy.

I just signed up for the Fatbike Frozen Forty. The event should be a awesome time on account of the race being on the Elm Creek single track. Elm Creek has a super fun and fast rolling MTB course . It should be amazingly fun with slipping, sliding and massive amounts of tire rubbing all over the place. My goal for this event is just to finish at my pace, which should not be a problem unless a tree, crazy weather or some stupid fuck(which may be myself) takes me out. I am actually excited for this one.

Now for my crazy brain. I hate the term fatbike and not because I am a overweight fat-ass. I just think it is fucking stupid. Life was so much better when this style of bike was generically called a Pugsley. I am taking it back! Just like Band Aid and Vice Grips before it, I will call these bikes Pugsleys from here on out. (or occasionally FFTB)

Riding the puggers has been amazing over the past couple of months. I love that bike. Weather it is up the frozen waterfalls of Amity Creek in Duluth. Bush crashin' through unexplored areas around town, riding hub deep through the Mississippi to explore the Beaver Islands or just rippin' familiar single track.........AMAZING amounts of fun.

Big adventure planed for next week. Maybe I will fill you in........ or maybe I wont give you the pleasure of hearing about my great fucking adventures. AAAHHHHHAAAA!

As the website grows it will become a great resource for all riders (not just trials) - I am excited to see if this shit takes off.

I have never been to fond of apartment living. Tuesday we put a offer in on a house and now all the issues that I with apartments have amplified. I think my feelings have changed because of a possible light at the end of the tunnel. There are also may things that go along with owning a house that my not be that enjoyable. I guess I feel like I am ready to try to deal with the yard work/miscellaneous shit. Building in cyber space(remember cyber space) has been helping with keeping my mind off of things that would other wise stress me to the max. I have watched a shit ton of movies so far this week. I once got so much enjoyment out of seeing new movies. The past three years or so that enjoyment has dwindled. With the new injury movies are the perfect pastime. So this are some of the high and low lights of the week.

DayBreakers

I enjoined Daybreakers. It had a unique spin on the typical vampire movie and there was a good amount or bloody gore. I was not the biggest fan of the ending though.

Deathwatch

Good movie. It was one of those....I want to see what happens next type.

Rising Son: The Legend of Skateboarder Christian Hosoi

I have a big soft spot for skateboarding even though I have not been on a board for years. This is a very well put together documentary. I enjoyed this one a ridiculous amount.

Down and out with a separated shoulder again. Went down riding my trusty rigid SS at the North Loop/Jail Trail on Friday. I was trying to conker a flow destroying section and just made a slight miscalculation and did a nose wheelie to ejector seat. The section is slightly downhill which makes a fall over the bars a excruciatingly long and painful proses. The head first landing was inevitable. After the initial impact I tried to roll it out and drilled the back of my shoulder. The crunching, cracking and popping noises from my helmet and shoulder were amazingly loud as they echoed throughout my flailing body. So there I was laying on the ground amazed that I was still conscious when my bike proceeded to pile drive me. I threw the bike off of me and screamed "FUCKING ASSHOLE BIKE!" You would think that my bike would have been a little more courteous and not landed on top of me after that........DICK. When I got up I thought I was perfectly fine until I grabbed my bike off the ground and my shoulder pulled out of place. Phone calls and ER visit to fallow.

So......here we are days later I am mastering my one handed typing skills and doing one of the only other things I can do, mentally beat my self up. I would like to consider myself a very competent and technically able mountain biker. Shit like this just takes me down a peg. I feel like it destroys my credibility as a good rider. Wile I don't really give a fuck about what anyone thinks of me, it still is a constant thought running through my mind. lord only knows how long I will be out. I will have a fallow up visit in a week or so but until then I will just try to stay sane.

Went out for a early morning skate plaza session on my trusty two wheeler. When I headed out the door it was 20 degrees and it did not feel to bad. Riding BMX in the cool is rough on the body. the cold amplifies the possibility of pull muscles and seem to make the act of bouncing your body of of random object intensely painful. I managed to do both this morning. Pulled a muscle in my lower back and crashed enough time to turn my new pants into Swiss cheese. Despite the bad thing I rode very well and had a amazing time.

Doomer, Matt and I thought it was a good Idea to do this hole gravel 100 miler thing. The ride down in the super van was great. Tons of gassing, cursing and giggling were had. As for the race it self we got there with just enough time to get our shit on/together, get on our bike and roll out. Matt and I decided we were going to ride together and Doomer would pound, because of our style and being fashionably late we stated at the back of the pack. We pick through so many riders in the first 20 mile it was crazy. I think it had to do with my riding strategy, the faster you go down the hills the fast you will be done. Average speed on the down hills was around 35mph, top was 39.9mph cranking in 44/12 down a loose gravel hill weaving through folks. It was awesome. Now to the up hills, Holy Fuck! Tons of hills 6,000 feet of climbing and climbing is not my strong suit and I know this. I went into this not afraid to hop off on the hills and walk and am glad that I did.

The Incident

With the unfathomable amount of climbing in the first 25 miles it was taking longer so I stated to rash-in my water/forgetting to drink. Rite around mile 43.6 i realized that I could no longer eat or drink anything. Being the stubborn fella I am I kept rolling until mile 52 where I made Matt stop an proceeded to freak out for 30-40min in my mind I was done, ready to sleep in the ditch and wait for Ben and Matt to finish and come pick me up. It took me minutes to eat a single bite of clif bar. I would chew and gag and chew an gag. The same went for the water, I'd spray water in my mouth and it would just sit in there and could not swallow. After a wile I could tell Matt did not want to leave me but didn't want to stand there any longer so I choked down a GU Roctane With some caffeine, I almost fucking puked that GU was a life saver. After about a mile I was back and cranking. I don't think I would have made it through with out Matt being there.Thanks. From then on everything went well aside from some mile discrepancy in the cue cards and some leg minor leg cramping.

Goals

I am not much of a goal setter but I went into this with a couple.

#1. Finish

#2 Not finish last

Check and check! I finished 163rd out of 268 in 8:12:35 including mental brake down(Thanks Matt). With 7:30mins on the bike with a average speed of 14mph, that includes the miles of pushing my bike up 10 to 12 steep fucking hills. Finished feeling pretty good but I was dehydrated a little but that is common for me anyways. AWESOME time!

For next time

Is there a next time? Little ring for sure, more water and ride faster.

Ok bikes
I am not going to go to the indoor skate park any more, spring is here. BTM and I went out and shredded the gnar on Sunday. We were pretty much hopping around like frogs from dry spot to dry spot.
Built up some new wheels today for my "gravel" bike. It is going to be a unique build I guess. I will post teasing picks every wed until done. NO! I should have it done by Sunday.(fingers crossed) I took me 3 weeks to build the wheels so we will see how that goes. Speaking of build wheels I have designed the sweetest truing stand base ever.
It has adjustable height, smooth swivel action, high speed casters and a lovely brown padded vinyl covering.

After doing some rad action on coaster brake bike V1 the fork could not take any more and apparently wanted to spend the rest of its life as a chopper. So a swap was in order.
Sweet new frame a lot stiffer than V1 and more fun with the super tall bars.

Week one(three). 70 total. I opted for one column down from initial test recommended.With sets of 12,17,13,13 and at least 17 (only made 15 on last set my arms were fuckin beat) with 60 sixty second rest time between sets.

Hope to make it to 100 in 4 weeks.

Back into action

December was a very lazy month no trainer time, skiing or riding. I guess you could call it taking a month off or some shit. I am now rockin' mindless trainer hours and free weight work for legs, arms, ect. I have also been hitting up skate parks on the bike multiple time a week with lots of travel hours rolling to Rodger, Golden Valley and Duluth.

Mr.Doom and I got out on a nice Pugs ride yesterday we rode from St.Augusta to Clearwater around and through Warner and back all on snowmobile trails. The trails were awesome on the way out but because of the rising temp the snow softened up a lot on the way back. Good times.

I signed up for the a Almanzo 100. The Almanzo is a 100 mile gravel road race/ride in Rochester, MN this may. I have not done a race or event for that matter in three years. Maybe this will get the ball rolling and I will commit to a couple of MTB events this year. Most of all it just gives me something to work towards.

I have got a three day weekend this week. I hope to get out and ski on Saturday and Sunday. Today I am going to get to some much needed bike work, my commuter really needs some loving and so does my park bike. Later today I will be hitting up the Showcase Skate Park in Rodgers, should be a good time I have got some new moves in mind to work on.

No ambition what so ever! In other news I had a interesting morning Tuesday. Jenna woke me up at 7 bells with"I am sorry, I know you wanted to sleep in but the car won't start." Which I responded "What am I suppose to do about it." Got up and gave a shout out to the hommies to see if I could get a vroom vroom to go get a new battery but they were all preoccupied. So I proceeded to ride to the parts place and back with a heavy fucking battery in my bag. That shit was so heavy it was hard for me to breath with the weight of the battery crushing my chest. Threw a new battery in no start. Called up The Rick and we check the car out, not that I know shit about motors but I was there for moral support. It had gas reaching the fuel pressure test valve so we proceeded to replace the plugs thinking we may have soaked the plugs with all the slow cranking with the burnt battery. Not a fucking chance. So I went to work and left Jenna to deal. Jenna and her Pops towed the car over to the shop and the Revo team and fam pushed it into the bay allowing the fuel line to thaw. That shit started rite up after sitting in the bay for two hours. I Hate Cars!

Monday night ride was fun but the trails were little greazy. My tire may have slid out and bumped a tree causing me to face plant to broken glasses, helmet, torn skin and bruised pocket book.The torn skin was from out of the inside of my upper lip and there was substantial swelling in my nose/sinus cavity which made breathing through my nose impossible. There was also some nice swelling in my brow area to give me a little more of a neanderthal look. Needles to say that it fucking hurt and I bitched about it all day Tuesday.

Had a darn good day today. I slept the fuck in and had some nice relaxation time before went for a good ride. Busted out North Loop to half Talahi to mechanical difficulty(major front der issues, but it was ok, I was riding with a mechanic) to other half to Beaver Island to River Bluffs to Plumb Creek and home. I hit the ground a couple of time do to the wet and leafy trails. Straight up hit the ejector seat and landed ten feet away from the bike after hitting a log hidden by leaves at speed. I was getting loose. I spent the rest of my day with my wife visiting various monuments of consumerism and wating in anticpation for the new Venture Brothers episode tonight. Great F-In day.

I ate shit pretty badly the other day at quarry park. For anyone who has ridden there before can tell you, the difference in traction between rocks inches apart can be incredible. One will be like 50 grit sand paper the next will be like a off camber sheet of ice. I was Just Riding Along and was suddenly on the ground. My front tire randomly slid out and I hit my fucked up knee. I was terrified for a second that I tore my shit up again but I talked my self back from freaking out. My knee did hurt but I decided to ride for another couple of hours for good or bad. Yesterday it felt awful and this morning it feels OK we will see what standing on it all day will bring. Anyway I love riding at quarry park it is my favorite place to ride at the moment. It has tons of crazy technical ups, downs, arounds and throughs, some that I will not step to or I will end up like this....

This is by far the strangest year for weather that I can recall. Cold fucking summer, hot September and ice and snow this morning. It is going to be a cold ride regardless of what I do.

I have been having a hard time blogging lately obviously, but sense I have the day off I thought I would give it a go. I have been selling bikes and parts trying to save for my new bike project and XC skis.
I am now a proud owner of a Salsa El Kaboing frame. I will hopefully have it running by next spring, it will be my Swiss army bike. With a list of dream parts and old standbys this shit should rock.

I have wanted to blog lately but have been to fucking lazy. I have been riding a shit ton with the weather being amazing. I have put in tons of laps at the North Loop in the last 2 weeks, the trail has been almost perfect. Doomer and I went and rode the trail in Monticello on Sunday and I got worked lots of low speed corners into climbs which = sore knee at the start, but at roughly 14 miles there was a very good variance in terrain.This Sunday weather permitting we will be cruising to hillside park in Elk River to ride some Fun looking Fucking trails. I rode there five years ago and I still proclaim it as my favorite trail with the new features I can imagine it will still reign supreme.

I never blog on my day off. I aways plan on doing it and it never works out. Had off on Friday and I got a lot of riding in and things done. First dishes then 4 laps at north loop then fished a favor tune up then rode trials(got stopped by PS and never want to ride SCSU Because I that getting stopped and can not evade on a bike that does not go faster than I can run,FuCk) Then went To Taco Bell then watched Near Dark Then went to sleep. Full day, not a moment wasted. No rest though, my body and knee were fucked.

I have been very down on myself the past couple of days.

Example#1: I was working on a bike that the front end was creaking on I did everything that I could and it still made noise. I felt like a failure and so unprofessional because I could not fix this fucking bike. It really got to me.

Example#2: I have the day off today and yesterday when I was thinking about what I should do with my time, nothing sounded fun or interesting.

NWD 9 was much better than 8 hands down but it just seems like all of the MTB vids are trying to be like the Collective and are not coming close. The Aaron Chase/Adam Hauck was killer but I just kind of zoned out for the rest. Check it.

This morning Doomer and I went out for a ride. Mr. Josh and Mr.T were suppose to join us but I guess we were not cool enough to ride with. We booth stated out with immaculately clean bike and came back with brown crunchy machines but it was a awesome time. It was very wet so it looked like I had pissed my self by the time we were done. On the ride home I sliced my tire open just to find out that my mini pump that has been hanging in my pack did not work. Fuck that thing.

I got out on my trials bike for the first time sense the surgery yesterday. My riding ability was still very much there I had to hold myself back from doing some larger moves.Trials riding was murder on my knee. Mr.Dave and I rode for about a hour and a half or so and at the end I had a hard time walking and supporting my own weight. I will only get stronger every time I go out, There is a comp in Duluth on Sept. 13Th I have to get ready for so its on.

I was going to go ride MTB early this morning But I was drained a my knee was very weak so maybe tomorrow.

I went out for a street ride to day and had way to much going on mentally. Every hop and manual my mind was like"land soft or you will fuck you self" and"don't pump to hard or you will tear you knee apart". My mind did not stop me from doing anything. I actually rode very well today, awesome hops and manuals. I could not hop up to manual which was very frustrating considerings it was one of my main stay moves but it did not survive the time off the bike as well as other moves did.
I had two days off of work with no driving to Duluth or moving ect. I was completely directionless. I wasted tons of time watching TV and movies but I felt that every once in a wile you just have to do jack shit.

Holy effen effer. Less than one week until I am once again able to thoroughly destroy everything on two wheels again.(If my x-ray looks good) I have plans to go shred with the Duluth crew after my appointment on Tuesday. Work has been awesome. We have been very busy this past week and I have had 2 1/2 days that have actually felt like work in the last 2 months. I love my job.

Wife
It has been hard living only seeing Jenna for a few hours each week. 17 days until the move.

Move
Jenna and I will be moving back into our old apartment complex in south central STC. We will be pool side and on the ground floor. No more death walks across the hot ass parking lot to go to the pool and no more lugging bikes up the stairs.....Fuck Ya!

Mikey fit me up on Eddy and now feels amazing, I actually want to go for road rides now. I am in the process of selling the wheels off of my commuter and am currently commuter less. I am 90% sure that I will be building a Salsa El Kaboing for the spring of 2010. The other 10% is spread out over Yeti ARC or IF.

Mental
I have been feeling kind of antisocial as of late. People want me to do things like go to shows or social gatherings and ect. I have a hard time saying no because that is just the way I am but part of me just want to just straight out be like"I just want to sleep and be fat by myself."

Thing are going good in the STC, but I do really miss seeing my lovely wife everyday. Work is awesome and it did not take to long for the shop to feel like home. I have been riding to work a lot, I have just over 160 commuter miles in already. I feel like I am on my mental cycling a game and my cardio level is not so bad either. Disc golf madness....yup. Going to bed before 10pm, sleeping a lot and eating junk food at my folks has to stop. I miss the interweb. maybe more to come tomorrow.

24 hours and I will be on the road to my new livin sitch. Mom and Dad prepare for a storm of bike parts and dirty clothes. Moving back home after living so far away for four years is a little strange. not seeing my family for months at a time and then go to seeing them everyday will be awesome, not being able to see my lovely wife everyday is going to be awful. All should be worth while, closer to family and friends. A new killer job in a dying job market. I have never had a job lined up before moving to a new place, that will save my mind weeks of mental breakdown level stress. One last day of work at conti. Even though it was my last week at this job I just could not let things go and got stressed out as always with how not organized and unstructured the shop is. No bad blood but I it is just not my style, a place for everything and everything in its place. I can not wait to work at a proper bike shop with a staff that knows what the fuck is going on. The fact that my parents do not have Internet access means that I will be out of the blogging scene for a undisclosed amount of time, so don't expect shit!

The move is closing in faster and faster, eight days and counting down. I am a little freaked out about moving away from my wife and belongings. I am also a little stressed about my new job, I know everything will be awesome. I just start digging to deep into my thoughts sometimes and freak myself out.

I got out and played some disc golf yesterday. I use to play at least eighteen everyday from the ages of 17 to 22, I played a lot and was pretty descent. I just figure it is a good activity to do with the bum leg. I had a good time sucking it up. I had some good drives followed by awful putts and vise versa. It was a good time but I become a little obsessive about getting back to my peak level of playing or riding when I realize that my skills have fallen off. The last time I tried to get my snow skills up to par I ended up with a new acl. I tend to push it a little and throw myself into bad situations just to progress.

I was up at 5:50 today with no alarm, that is to early to be waking up on my day off. I have not felt like anything in my life is worth blogging about lately. I hate talking about how my knee is doing all of the time but that is possibly the biggest hurdle of my life. My bad leg is getting strong I would say it is at about 75 to80% of normal and it was three months sense my surgery yesterday. My good leg is freakishly cut and strong currently because of motoring up the hills in Duluth with primarily one leg.(I am not suppose to climb the steep hills yet but I do, I just make sure 90% of the power is off my good leg) I also don't want to blog about every ride I take on my bike, other than that I don't have much going on. I am having a hard time at work it just feels like no one has my back and I am the only one who cares if work actually gets done on time or at all. So shit! Fuck! AAHHHHAAAAAhp!

I went out on a ride this morning, I planed on out and back ride totaling 90 minutes and ended up only riding for a hour and ten minutes because for some I was dying on the way out and killed it on the way back. It was like I was a different person after a minute walk and some water at the turnaround and the wind was not that much of a factor only 2 mph. Brutal on the way out to fast and easy on the way back. It feels so good to ride outside again but I can not pedal standing up so it is very hard to over do it as far as my knee is concerned.

Its been a wile. Not to much going on. The bike is officially off the trainer and there is a new bike project that will be my Mtb for the season cuz my monkey is now my commuting machine. The knee is feeling pretty good and am looking forward to a couple of good rides this week. I told the folk at Conti that I will be leaving and they did not freak out and fire me on the spot like I thought possibly might happen. Got my ass super whooped at Pt on Thursday sense then my knee has been swollen up pretty bad but to pain, It just feels bulbous. I went to a couple of metal shows Friday and Saturday night to see The Body Beneath. I was in To The Burning End with Eric the singer until is destruction.(It might of been my fault) Had a good time on Friday night doing band activities like, trying to fix the tail lights on the van at midnight because it does not have insurance. I got out on my first outdoor ride of the season today despite the cold, wind and snow. I rode about 40 minutes up the shore and back, it felt so good to be on a bike out side regardless of the conditions. I stopped got out of the wind, took some pictures and warmed up on the way back. I have a had time grasping how big lake Superior actually is, I just stare out upon the lake and expect to see the other side but it is not in sight. I got a little bit cold by the time I got home I think my nipples we hard enough to cut glass. Cruising speed was the tempo to say the least on my new free ride bike....I mean free bike.
I claimed this one before it made it to the dumpster wile I was working at Ski&bike in the GF. Today was the first time I have ever ridden this bad machine, it is pretty fun other than the current post does not allow for a decent leg extension. I felt free again after being cooped up for so long and I would be lying if I said that both wheels stayed on the ground the entire time.

I saw the surgeon again the other day and I am now down to PT once a week and was told that I should be able to go back to my normal riding style in July but I will saddled with a brace during "extreme"(I hate when people say extreme when describing alternative activities) activities for the rest of my life. I guess it could be worse I could have been told not to do them at all.

The time of the move is quickly approaching. I can not wait, If I did not have a good thing going with my PT up here I would just quit my fucking job and make my way down asap. Rite now my knees health is way up on my priority list and I trust my physical therapist more than others that I have had in the past. I guess there is only five weeks to go so I will just take it day to day.

Spring

I have been a little frustrated with my knee as of late. After surgery it just felt like it was getting less painful and stronger everyday, about three weeks ago it hit a plateau and it was very frustrating. Usually for a wile in the morning it feel like I have to really pay attention to waking or my leg will buckle under. This morning I took the first step away from the bed expecting painful and awkward steps but all my leg felt was normal. There was no stretching feeling, pain or awkward steps it just felt normal. I thought I had totally forgotten how my knee should feel but there was a great feeling of remembrance swept over my body that I have not felt sense December 2ND. I thought that the feeling was a fluke so I immediately went and beat the shit out of my leg on the trainer and then did my pt exercises then put it on ice as usual. After icing it still felt amazing not stiff, painful or awkward. I am now again on the upward swing, it brings a smile to my face as I now try to get my leg to remember how to spring off of the ground without the pain. My only worry now is that it feels normal and I may not be as motivated to do my pt because I will not have that awkward painful reminder to do so. I do have this reminder......

That if I train out in the sticks that I can beat the shit out of a huge Russian.

I got the OK from my physical therapist to ride my bike out side. I am pretty stoked but not as stoked as I thought I would be, I always want more. Ya I get to ride which is great but, part of riding for me is the freedom to go anywhere I want and ride up, over, through and down. I have been very antisocial this week. Wednesday I did not set foot off of the porch and I only talked to Jenna on the phone no direct human to human contact. Not having Jenna around has been rough, I have been very out of it. My mind is wander more than usual pondering the questions of the universe, evolution, religion, human nature, consumerism in society, what Dr.Pepper is suppose to taste like.

My Karate Monkey is dying. I did some much need work on the it today, it is going to be my new commuter sense my Cross Check went to a new home last fall. Were to start, first off the I need to put some different brakes on it because I stole them for my Chase. The rear triangle has been twisted for a couple of years now. It does not pull to badly to the left but you can feel it when you ride no handed and installing a rear brake is also interesting process. There is usually some grinding and bending going on. After a hard riding fall in Duluth my fork is also a twisted piece of shit, there was some bending going down on the fork so that caliper adjuster hardware would not be dragging against the disc. It will keep rolling on I love this bike, it is the most comfortable riding position of any bike I have ridden. I would like this FRAME as a replacement in the future, all of the parts will switch over nicely. I am such a consumer.

Snobby Bike Riding Teddy Bear

Jenna left for a week leaving making me into Super Shut In. I have been home alone for one hour and am talking to myself and just being crazier than usual. The good weather today made me want to ride out side so badly, I wanted to say fuck doctors orders I want to ride. I know I feel more comfortable on wheels than I do with feet against pavement. I mean I will not jump off a five foot ledge on my feet but I will drop it on my trials bike. My bike allows me to do thing that I can not attain on foot.

I have not been to a movie in the theater in a wile so tomorrow I might go see this.

I am kind of a wanna be comic book geek but I can not justify spending the money to buy entire series of books, or collect thing isn't really me. The Watchmen is based off of a award winning graphic novel from 1985. The writers of the novel did not endorse the movie but it was directed buy the fell that did 300 and I think that movie is amazing. At a running time of 2hr 43min I will get my moneys worth of seat time. I will let you know what I thought of it tomorrow if I can overcome the fear of leaving the house.

I have been a large for most of my life. I think I started to get thicker when I was able to start portioning my own food. A little is good a lot is better mentality is what got me to being a large man. My weight has fluctuated for years from 3 bills to 2.When Jenna and I moved to Duluth I was a ripe 289lbs. That weight was mostly caused by having a dollar store next to the bike shop and eating entire packages of cookies for lunch. What am I getting at is that I am going to try to get the most out of my body. Getting badly injured makes you rethink thing and it just seems that I would definitely make the most out of being as fit as possible. First off less weight would be less impact on my joints, especially my knee. Second I want to make the most out of my cycling, I ride pretty well but how much better could I ride if I was not carrying a extra 90lbs. About two weeks ago I weighed my self at work I was at 269lbs. Last week is when I decided I wanted to give this fitness thing ago so I cut out snacks, am having smaller portions at meals and not eat sugar. I had a some cake at a birthday party last night, but there is a time and a place for everything. I have also been doing as much riding on the trainer as my knee and mind will allow. I have lost 8 lbs in two weeks. I do not want to make this about the numbers but they are one way to measure my progress. I want this to be about being all I can be, jump higher climb faster, ride longer and rejuvenate and preserve my body and just to feel better.

So, The most exciting thing of my year so far, I have not been able to blog about for fear of who will find out. Being that no one reads this anyways and everyone needs to find out sometime. I was offered a new job and excepted. Sometime this spring I will be become a member of the best bike shop in STC by far,Revolution Cycle And Ski.( If they still want me after this) I will be working for some slave drivers.......no they are the greatest group of guys that anyone would kill to work with and for. I can not wait to work with them and to be back in STC the place were I call home.

I am so ready for spring already. When the snow melts I can ride my bike again....outside. I know I am still recovering and a little more time will be good for my knee. The real bummer is that I missed out on the Duluth winter. I hurt my self the day before it snowed and will not get the OK to do things out side until the snow is gone. Am I a bike Snob or a cycling elitist? I would not like to be considered to be a snob or elitist of any kind. I like to think that I am not either, but certain things keep me thinking that I may be. I hate snobists, ( I created a new word to save time on typing snob and elitist ) I fucking hate them! I mother fucking hate the fuckers! I work with a fascist fucking snob that would not consider me to be a human being because I do not roll around town in a fucking Escalade in fancy designer fucking clothes looking like a obnoxious circus clown. See now I am being mean......does that make me a snob, because I think I am more in touch with the rest of the world than rich assholes. I am not saying that everyone with money is a asshole, just that the assholes are assholes in general but I do hate the rich ones more than the poor ones....a lot more. Am I an asshole?

Back to the snobist aspect of cycling. I really started thinking about this when I was working on a Lightspeed(very spendy Titanium frame) yesterday. A fella came in with some spendy Mavic wheels and wanted us to install them and do a tune up on his bike no big deal. First off the bike had a nice even coating of road salt, which made me cry a little. When I started to do the tune up I noticed that his bottom bracket(connects the crank arms to the bicycle and allows the crankset to rotate freely) was falling out. Ever time the crank went halfway around there was a dramatic shift. How did he not notice that, it felt like shit. I got so pissed off, this guy does not deserve this bike if he is going to treat it this way. Midway through my tantrum it hit me,"Am I a fucking bike snobist?"or do I just covet what others have. I know that when I lived in the GF that being a little bike of a bike snob was encouraged. We had a back door that was suppose to be for employees only, there is a fucking sign. Most employee stories would start out "So this fucking stupid illiterate fucker came in the back door"and so on, I think you get the picture. It was kind of like the movie Clerks, but in stead of a convenience store it was a bike shop. I poked fun a few thing and straight up feel to the floor laughing about others, it was always(on my end at least) just good fun. Yesterday I was just straight mad. I like to think that I side with the customers more than some of the people I have worked with in the bicycle land, even tough I am not a huge fan of people in general. So what the fuck, I am just rambling again. Does it really mater if I am a bike snob or cycling elitist? I don't give a fuck what you think anyways!
